Further Sponsors Announced For Alec Baldwin Non-Profit Event

On Friday, January 27th, stage and screen actor Alec Baldwin will perform live for an audience in Western New York (WNY) to benefit local non-profit theatre company Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP). Today, RLTP announced that Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo, located in Williamsville, NY, has joined the list of organizations offering support to the benefit event.

The Return of Alec Baldwin (a tip to Mr. Baldwin’s prior visits to Buffalo in support of RLTP), will occur on Friday, January 27, 2012, at the University at Buffalo (UB) Center for The Arts (CFA). Baldwin, a member of RLTP’s National Advisory Board, will appear on stage with 10 of WNY’s best actors to read the Clifford Odets’ play, The Big Knife . RLTP Executive and Artistic Director Scott Behrend will direct the reading.

Proceeds from the event support RLTP’s mission to develop and produce original works by WNY writers and theatre artists. To meet its mission, RLTP manages a set of strategic programs coupling area playwrights with established professionals. RLTP also operates an intimate 90-seat theatre in the historic theatre district of downtown Buffalo, NY. As many as 1,500 patrons are expected to attend the January 27 th benefit event. WBFO radio personality Bert Gambini will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Regarding its decision to sponsor the event, Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo President Robert LaMastra said, “We are committed to supporting art and cultural development in our area. These organizations play an important role in our community’s future. Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo is proud to support Road Less Traveled in its efforts.”

RLTP Board of Directors Chairman Bernhard J. Huber thanked Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo for its support of the upcoming benefit event. “When our board members go out into the community asking for support, we always are grateful to encounter such a kind interaction and favorable response as has been the case with Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo. All of our supporters contribute in a measured and positive way to helping us achieve our mission to develop the writers and theatre artists of Western New York.”

Tickets for the 8:00PM reading (doors open at 7:30PM) are $75 and $60, depending on seating locale. A limited number of $250 VIP tickets – which include cocktails, dinner, and priority seating in the first five rows for the reading – are available. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster by phone at (800) 745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com , and at ticketing o utlets, including at FYE Stores in the McKinley Mall and Chautauqua Mall, Shea’s Performing Arts Center, and Wal-Mart locations in Buffalo and Rochester.

Tickets also are available at the UB CFA Box Office, Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-6:00PM and one hour prior to the performance.
